I got an urgent text message as I went for my daily walk along the gorgeous Seattle Lake Union.
“Please tell me exactly what the heck does ‘business casual’ mean for women nowadays?
Short Answer, which I typed:
“Doesn’t show shoulder, no deep V cut in the front, nor holes in the back.”
I got a reply in two seconds: “I just love clear and straightforward answers like that!”
And here’s the long answer:
Business casual for women just means being casual but not sloppy nor overtly sexy.
The rule of thumb is to minimize skin exposures at unusual ‘venues’, such as in the middle of your back.
No tank tops.
A safe but chicer choice is skinny jeans, pointy-toed flats, along with blazers or cardigans.
As long as you didn’t find your outfit while googling these words online: sleeveless, deep V, plunging, cut-out, backless, you’re fine.
You go, girl!
